Corofin Festival 18th , 19th , 20th July 2014 Friday 18th July: FESTIVAL DANCE – COUNTRY & WESTERN ‘HOEDOWN’ WITH LINEDANCING – MUSIC BY THE DOUBLE DECKERS. COMMENCING AT 10PM IN THE FESTIVAL MARQUEE – FANCY DRESS COMPETITION TICKETS €10 PER PERSON Saturday 19th July: 80’s DISCO – BRING BACK TIR NA N-OG. Corofin Annual Festival

Plans for the 2nd now Annual Corofin Community Summer Festival are well under way and it's going to be a good one with something for all the family! So spread the word, save the date, book the babysitter, practice the egg and spoon race, brush up your disco moves, farming skills, bonny your babies, train your dogs and learn some Gareth Brooks lyrics - because from July 18-20th Corofin is the place to be!! Line Dancing Classes for the Festival Dance: Dust down those boots and get your cowboy hats on – let’s bring the Wild West to Corofin Village for one night only!!!! As part of the opening night of the festival there will be a Country & Western Hoe Down (Gareth Brooks night) and during the dance there will be a show case of line dancing by professionals on the night – they will be encouraging those attending to get involved. If you would like to learn a few line dancing steps for the festival weekend then classes will be held over the next 3 Tuesday evenings (1st, 8th and 15th of July ) running from 8-9.30pm in the Palm Tree, Ballyglunin. Classes will be €8 per person per night – great exercise and lots of fun guaranteed. Further information on 086-2204082.

Corofin Agricultural Show Dog Show Category Suggestions and Requirements Dog Categories 1. Puppy under 12 months 2. Toy Dog (Cavalier King Charles, Chihuahua, Maltese, Pinchers, Pekes, Poms, Pugs) 3. Utility (Bulldog, Chow Chow, Dalmatian, Poodle, Shitzu, Tibetan terrier) 4 Pointers, Setters, Spaniels 5 Terrier . 6. Border Collie 7 Labradors & Retrievers. 8. Hound (Afghan, Basset, Beagle, Daschund, Irish Wolfhound, Greyhound) 9. Working Group (German Shepherd, Great Dane, Doberman, Rottweiler, St.Bernard) 10. Open class (Crossbreeds) 11 Any Variety of Dog, Confined to Corofin Parish. 12. Dog the Judge would like to take home 13 Dog handled by a boy under 12years. 14. Dog handled by a girl under 12 years. 15. Show Champion Some categories may be scraped if there are no dogs for variety type. Dogs must be leashed at all times Judges decision final Entry Fee €5.00 per dog per category. Multiple dog and category entries by the same person may have a reduced price. Winner of each dog group from 1 to 11 will qualify for show champion Rosettes for first and second and maybe third if the field is big enough Prizes include Dog nuts & rosettes Trophy for show champion category 15.

Corofin Community Development Association (CCDA) are inviting you to join us on this Saturday 1st June in Raftery’s Corofin at 8.30pm for a fun night to re-live the wonderful ‘Celebrity Jigs & Reels’ event which took place in March giving you an opportunity to watch the dancers strut their stuff all over again. The event is to thank the dancers for their commitment and dedication on the run up to the event and for all those who contributed to make the event a wonderful success – no cover charge.Further pictures of the event available here
